What is an Outfitter?
We are the Gunflint Trail outfitters. The Gunflint Trail is a paved road that originates in Grand Marais on the edge of Lake Superior and ends 60 miles northwest near the Canadian border. Some of us grew up here and many of us have chosen to raise our children here on the edge of the BWCAW. We’re enamored with this place. It is the setting for our stories and we want to share it with you. Please be our guests, and we’ll help your family build wilderness stories too! We can provide the gear, the food, and the instruction to simplify this path for you and your family. We want to share our ideas.
